Trivandrum or Thiruvananthapuram is an ancient city with tradition dating back to 1000 BC. Thiruvananthapuram became the capital of the Raja of Travancore in 1750. The city gets its name from the word, Thiru-anantha-puram, meaning the abode of the sacred Serpent Anantha on which Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the Hindu trinity, reclines.
Places of interest in Trivandrum are Napier Museum, Shri Chitra Art Gallery, Kanakakunnu Palace, Padmanabhaswamy Temple, etc.
Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on ones’ skin in a matter of minutes.

In the morning, after breakfast, proceed for a day tour to Kanyakumari.
The southernmost end of the mainland of Indian subcontinent, Kanyakumari is an indispensable part of any South India tour. Kanyakumari, unique in itself for being amongst the very few places in the country where you could watch a sunrise and also a sunset sitting at the very same spot, is also famous for the Kumari Amman temple.
Vivekananda Rock- Much more than just a tourist attraction in Kanyakumari, Vivekananda rock is a sacred monument dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, one of the most revered spiritual leaders.
In the afternoon, drive back to resort, and enjoy the rest of the day on the beach.
