The Republic of India is a country in South Asia, bound by Indian Ocean in the South, the Arabian sea in South-West and the Bay of Bengal on the South-East. India is a sovereign republic, governed in a democratic parliamentary system. It is a large peninsular land, sharing its border with Pakistan in the West, China, Nepal and Bhutan in the North and Bangladesh and Myanmar in the East and Sri Lanka in the South. India is the largest producer of milk, jute and pulses, and second largest producer of rice, wheat, groundnut, sugarcane, tea and fruits & vegetables. India exports an extensive range of products like rice (including the popular Basmati rice), fresh fruits & vegetables, buffalo meat, marine products etc.
